My trip to Iceland was amazing. Even though Iceland has grown in popularity over the past couple of years, especially with photographers, the country still felt wild and untouched. Some of my favorite moments from this trip were driving with my friends with the expansive Icelandic wilderness stretched before us, our music blasting. While we visited the main attractions along the Golden Circle, I loved the less touristy spots best. Skogafoss was stunning, and we spent a day on a horse farm which was amazing–we got to see two foals! Another day I did a day-long horseback riding trip with some friends through Eldhestar. I highly recommend it! We were all super sore after 5 hours of riding, but it was truly a dream come true for me. I would definitely recommend a horseback riding trip if you visit Iceland!
I have to say that the food in Iceland was much better than I expected. If you visit, you absolutely have to go to Fridheimar Tomato Greenhouse! The restaurant is inside a greenhouse and they had THE BEST BREAD IN THE WORLD. Like seriously, I am still dreaming of this bread. We also had tomato soup, which I usually don’t like but it was incredible, and a tomato and mozzarella flatbread. But with the main meal came unlimited bread! Before we left the restaurant I made myself a bread sandwich to put in my camera bag for a snack later. Y’all, I had just been in France, the land of bread, and this Icelandic greenhouse bread was the best in the world. So to sum up, visit Iceland, see the waterfalls, photograph the sheep and horses, and hire me to photograph you so I can eat more bread. And, you know, photograph your love.
